Offerings

The desire to wear aromas, textures, flavors. Memories transformed into a new skin that yearns to be touched and resignifies the past.

Created from organic waste, three biotextile necklaces resignify the past and integrate into new life processes as a second skin. Through rituals of return to water, earth, and fire, these pieces transmute into offerings that connect matter, time, and origin. A symbolic weaving that unites the visible with the ancestral, where form transforms and time is inscribed.

Like any skin, this one renews itself, initiating a new cycle: the shedding. After witnessing their vital processes, these biotextile works return through rituals as offerings of gratitude to their land of origin—dissolving in water and turning into ashes to nourish the soil once again.

I capture the celestial chart for the exact day, hour, and location of the offerings. I embroider them with hand-spun threads dyed with organic pigments, fusing the astronomical and spiritual record of the ritual.

The audiovisual recording of the ritual action of offering and its subsequent embroidery reinforce the connection between the body, the territory, and the cycles of nature, through which I explore transformation and memory.

A weaving that recalls the importance of transmutation, becoming, and connecting with desire. Trusting that the sown past can awaken into a new life—and into new lives.
