Connective Tissue
Connective Tissue
Biotextiles with Memory
Scents, colors, and memories, today transformed into skin.
A tissue that sustains, connects, and resignifies both what has been lived and what is yet to come.
Peels and remnants consumed during the quarantine become a second skin, transforming the sown past and awakening into a new life.
Covering oneself with meaningful moments, filling oneself with them, and claiming power over all that constitutes our essence.
Basting stitches that form new constellations.
Revaluing is an active way of recycling and resignifying not only materials, but our own story.
They will endure for as long as nature dictates.
From the earth they come, and to the earth they shall return.
Connective Tissue (Tejido Conectivo) is a work that seeks to awaken the senses, bridging a direct path to our memories, aromas, and lived experiences. It is the unfolding of a new skin: a living tissue, chosen and created. A future offered to the past, serving as a nexus between our bonds and our origin.
Organic waste leaves behind its condition as disposable matter to become an organic texture that invites touch—a carrier of a new cellular and narrative experience.
The work develops through a biotechnological process that allows the cultivation of biotextiles and bio-leathers from seasonal produce and household waste, applied to the design of dresses and accessories. Being composed of organic matter, the piece possesses its own vital pulse: over the years, it will undergo the natural mutations, degradation, and shifts brought on by the passage of time.
